When the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center approached me about producing a documentary style video, I jumped at the chance. What an opportunity to encourage people to think more deeply about how the atrocities of the past have shaped our world today. And more selfishly, what an opportunity for me to learn first-hand about hate and hope and strength and courage. Even if my experience had gone only so far as to meet and talk with this diverse group, so brave and forthcoming, I would have declared it extraordinary and enlightening. But being able to share my experience with others is indescribable. Still, this is only the beginning. After viewing the video I ask that you please add your comments to the message board. After all, the only way we will ever rid our world of the ugliness of hatred is to bring it into the light of day and talk about it openly. And that is the ultimate goal, to trade hatred for hope.
